You can use cheesecloth with your yogurt to create a thicker and smoother consistency by using a bowl and a strainer. You place the strainer over the bowl and place the cheese cloth over that. Grade 90 cheesecloth is recommended for this purpose as it is a tighter weave which will allow it to hold the yogurt and not filter through. Scoop your yogurt into the cheese cloth and then enclose it and put it in the refrigerator overnight. When you open it up you will notice that the yogurt will be much thicker almost like cream cheese. (Makes for a great desert choice) Look below and you will observe that there will be quite a bit of liquid at the bottom of the bowl from the straining process. Because the white cheesecloth is lint free and easy to wash it is an ideal choice for thickening your yogurt.
